Team Leader / Sr. Director
Job Description:
Position is responsible for managing a cross-functional team dedicated to an individual class of products (e.g., Controllers, Cases & Storage, Power & Cables, Audio and Headsets), that is revenue growth centric. Team will be comprised of Product Managers in USA and China, Concept Artist, Graphics Artist, and Engineering (EE and or ME). The team will be in charge of all aspects of managing, growing, and protecting the current portfolio of products in the class. Team will view itself as a business unit with the revenues of that class of products as their own. Product line extensions, variants, feature enhancements, cost-down efforts (margin improvements), and other peg keeping/winning activities within a 1-year time horizon are paramount. The individual filling this position will use their own expertise and that of their team to add new categories of business that go beyond video game accessories.
Critical collaborative communication with Sales & Marketing team on licensing strategies, packaging line look and creative art design is essential to maintain uniformity with corporate standards and strategies. This position’s main task is to “build the business” for top line growth and margin results.
Candidate Requirements:
Highly motivated, dynamic, and seasoned hands-on business manager who has 10+ years as product/brand manager, preferably in Consumer Electronics. Experience as a product/program team lead is critical, along with strong business P&L knowledge.
Familiar with China factory production issues and realities and is comfortable with manufacturing costed bill of material negotiation and design impacts.
Extremely well-organized, task & time oriented. An excellent communicator and team-builder who is completely at ease working with multiple individuals spanning several functions. Loves to be in the middle of the team, hands-on involvement at all levels.
