Digital Chumps just reviewed our full line of
Afterglow controllers, they gave them a glowing review! Check out some
of the highlights below and visit the link at the bottom for the full
review.
Afterglow AP.1 for the PlayStation 3
Now, the best part of the controller was how the analog sticks were
placed. Call me crazy, but this design was very close to the
positioning of the ‘c’ button on the Gamecube controller. This design,
again, was one of the better designs in gaming history and it was nearly
the same feeling with the Afterglow AP.1. Very comfortable,
more so than the PS3 controller from Sony. Amazing, if you think about
it.
Afterglow AX.1 for the Xbox 360
This is a Microsoft licensed controller and is eerily similar to the
official controller. You have pretty much all the buttons in their
original places (analog sticks are where they should be, the
directional pad is about the same size, etc.)…
Afterglow Aw.1 & AW. 2 for the Wii
The Afterglow AW.1 does have two differences, as the 1/2
buttons are no longer vertical, as they are diagonal and the +/-
buttons have changed places…
Editor review
Happiness is a glowing controller
While glowing is the first glamor for these controllers, comfort is a
very close second. I think that PDP has hit the mark with most of
their designs, especially with button and analog stick placement. I
think that the Wii controllers could use another round of thoughts.
(Overall) Rating: 8.3
- Design: 7.0 -
Functionality: 8.0 -
Value: 10.0 -
Tilt: 8.0
Design:
While I’m not overly thrilled with
the Wii remotes, I think the Xbox 360 and PS3 Afterglow controllers are
an improvement. Despite that they sport cords, they’re still nice and
comfortable to use. The glowing is pretty cool as well and adds some
much needed personality to the PDP devices.
Functionality:
You can see that each
controller had some thought put into it; most of the thoughts worked
out really well.
Value: You can’t beat the value of these. You get some glow added to
some very inexpensive controllers. With nearly have the cost of the
originals, the PDP Afterglow set really hits the mark.
