The
fourth incarnation of the Nintendo DS system was just announced at the
Nintendo Summit 2010, it is the Nintendo DSi XL. It’s exactly like the
Nintendo DSi, only it’s a whole lot bigger in size. The DSi XL will be
released in two colors and comes preloaded with some basic applications.
Nintendo boasts that the system will be large enough for other
people to be able to “look over your shoulder” easier and see things at
better angles. The system also seems to cater to an older generation as
well as those with large hands. With that said, the Nintendo DSi XL is
also entering the world of E-books with a cartridge (that will be
released at a later time) which will include 100 public domain books.
With that said we wanted to get a jump on a whole new product line
for the Nintendo DSi XL. The new line is innovative and has a very
trendy, cosmopolitan feel to it. We are really trying to cater to the
needs of everyone with these new accessories. The starting lineup will
include four different products for the new system. Each individual
product was made to help you charge, protect, and carry your DSi XL that
integrate some interesting new features never before seen in handheld
cases.
The Nintendo DSi Power Pack is a fully outfitted kit that will keep
your DSi XL charged while on the go. It features a DC- Adaptor for long
trips; it is a perfect match for when the E-Books cartridge is
released. The case included in the pack is our City Wallet that
resembles a small hand clutch which says style and sophistication.
Next on the list is the Show ‘N Go Folio. Similar to the “Fashion
Folio” for the DSi in functionality, the XL version has a completely
different style, with the same principal as before, with an elegant
plush feel and a wildly luxurious crocodile pattern. It wraps around the
entire system, protecting it, when the case is completely closed. When
it’s in use, it doesn’t get in the way and still enables you to play
with the DSi XL while it’s still snapped into the case. The cool thing
about this case is that it isn’t just a case, it’s also a stand. When
the folio is open its various panels Velcro to each other making a great
stand while you play (or read). It’s just another feature that makes
the Show ‘N Go Folio a quality product.
Last on our list are the Write & Protect Pack, and Stylus
2-Pack. The 2-Pack is simply two large replacement styluses (available
only at GameStop). The Write & Protect Pack has another one of those
fancy new features as mentioned before. It comes with two screen
protectors large enough for the DSi XL as well as a small and large
stylus replacement, which features a soft gel grip. Only difference is
that the small stylus fits inside the large one enabling you to play
while only carrying a single stylus.
As always, all of these new products are tested by Nintendo and
have received the Nintendo Seal of Quality on the front of the box! From
business class to casual outings the Nintendo DSi XL Power Pack, Show
‘N Go Folio, Write & Protect Pack, and Stylus 2-Pack will be
available for purchase with the release of the Nintendo DSi XL on March
28th.
